Monday March 18 – Leprechaun Day
Leprechauns change the name of the town to New Dublin for the week, entertain kids, visit the elderly, and appear at various businesses.
Tuesday March 19 – Hooligan Day
Corned beef and cabbage is served during the week at Pup’s Irish Pub and Pine Tree Supper Club on Hwy 54 in North Dublin (Northport) and places such as The Waters, Hilby’s, Shamrock Heights, and many other fine local establishments in New Dublin (New London).
Wednesday March 20
Irish Caroling at St. Joseph Residence and Franklin Park apartments. It’s a great way to learn all the traditional Irish sing-a-longs. Song sheets are provided. Meet in the lobby of St. Joseph’s at 5:00 pm.
Thursday March 21
Irish Entertainment Night • 7:00 pm at the New London High School auditorium. Talented artists from the New Dublin area present a moving evening of Irish entertainment on stage that features songs, dances, and the humor of Ireland. We will also introduce 2019 Irish Man & Irish Rose, Grand Marshalls and the Irish Lad & Lassie will be announced. It’s great family entertainment. Free admission, donations appreciated.
Friday March 22
Irish Céili (kay-lee) • 7:00 pm – At the Crystal Falls Banquet Facility. A traditional social gathering of friends and family for music & dance. Learn Irish dance steps or just watch with the caller and Ceili band. Free admission, donations appreciated.
Saturday March 23
St. Patrick’s Day Grand Parade • 1:00 pm – Downtown. Wisconsin’s largest St. Patrick’s Day parade includes an extensive lineup of bagpipe & marching bands, festive clowns, specialty units, clans, business floats, and more–up to 125 units or more. Prizes are awarded for the best entries. View the Parade Route.
New Dublin Irish Fest • 11:00 am to 6:00 pm – Three bands will play as well as Irish food, beverages, and market booths. Held downtown under a huge heated tent by Festival Foods. Entrance to Irish Fest is $5.00 for the whole day. The bands for 2019 to be announced at a later date.
Police department reminder: Do not place chairs out on the sidewalk the night before the parade or until the snow has been cleared from the side walk. Open intoxicants are prohibited. Animals are prohibited on public property at events as per city ordinance (pdf). Events are sponsored by the Shamrock Club of New Dublin with the help of many fine businesses and individuals from New Dublin and the surrounding area.
